Cosplay Tutorial | How To Make Ribbons Bows

I'm back with another simple costume making tutorial ~ It's one of the common elements in cosplay costumes , and you can see it all the time in any anime / manga / games ! It's something that I enjoy making a lot , it's Ribbons or also known as Bows ! (｡´∀｀)ﾉ

Making ribbons is really simple and you can make one in like 15 minutes ? Here's what you need , the measurement varies - depending on how big the bow you want it to be :

Piece A ( 2 x pieces ) = 10 x 12 Inches

Piece B ( 2 x pieces ) = 8 x 20 Inches

Piece C ( 1 x piece ) = 2 x 5 Inches

Here's how it looks like when you sewn the two pieces together ! It's a simple stitch , just sew along the line and turn it inside out. I love playing with the materials to make my bows look more interesting , I layered my usual matte satin with a thin sequinned fabric to make it for sparkly because it's a Love Live costume ! (❁´▽`❁)*✲ﾟ*

So now , put Piece A over Piece B , around in the midpoint of both pieces.

Place Piece C on top of Piece A !

Hold Piece C so that it can form a loop to hold Piece A + Piece B together !

Hold it with a pin at the back ~  (≧∇≦)/

.... and check the front of the bow. Sometimes it might be too tight or too loose , you can make some adjustments before stitching it up ! 

Here , you can see that I'm using a blanket stitch ! For tiny places like this , it's better that you hand sew for neater finishing !

As you can see here , the bow stands out much more because of the layering of fabric that I choose ~ you can play with different types of fabric to create a different look / feel !
